Why is it important to invest in foster youth?

“Invest your time with foster kids/youth because they need our help and we can help guide them. Many kids/youth don't have a parent to talk to or mentor them to achieve their goals.”

— Retired foster mother of 30+ years

“To begin- if we as a society, through the actions of our government, are going to take children from their families. We also have an obligation to ensure those children have a safe environment, emotional support and experience the positive modeled behaviors they need to transition to independence and future success.”

“Foster youth and former youth in care have gone on to do so much to make the world a better place.”

— Foster Kids/Youth Lawyer

“I think ensuring foster youth succeed would give us a plethora of amazing people who can contribute to society in great ways. All the people who do great things have a common experience in trauma."

— Former youth in foster care
